Bankroll back on tracks

Ive played very poor the last week or so online tired from playing live casino tournaments and one night almost butchered my bankroll after having a few beers.
I decided this morning to go shit or bust and started playing $10 6max sng's
I loaded up 3 games ... won 2 x1st place & 1 x 2nd putting my bankroll higher than all the madness began
Although its nice to be back in profit im not satisfied how i allowed myself to go off tracks and start chasing money.
I dont really deserve to be in profit but i am so fuck it

My plan is to continue playing 6max untill hopefully build a bankroll enough to start playing multi table sng's

Alcohol and Poker grrrr

I'd like to confirm that playing poker while drinking red wine is not good for your game
I have been playing fairly consistent and improving for a while but Sunday night i decided to drink red wine while playing online.
I lost respect for my little bankroll and what i am trying to achieve which at the moment is really just to improve as a poker player and not deposit again.
Ive been on a bit of a break even stretch and after a few glasses of wine can just remember thinking so what if i go busto. you only live once etc etc
So i lost a few buy-ins and decided to buy into a cash game with the remainder of my bankroll.
I hate calling $90 a bankroll because its peanuts but i decided that if im going to be good at poker then i should prove it to myself by building a roll from scratch.
I went as low as $20 playing the cash game but quit at about $55 thankfully went to sleep
since i have got it back up a bit to $63
but its crap because i was showing a profit after 200 games since joining fulltilt but now im -$15
I know i will get it back and continue but its really stupid to play while drinking wine.
Its ok to have a gamble and enjoy poker but i dont want to be a losing player
grrrrrr

i also noticed that having a couple of beers while playing live affects my game . .i know its obvious that alcohol will affect playing poker but i enjoy having a drink once or twice a week and would like it while playing poker lolz

Tonight im going to play live casino £25 quadruple chance freezeout which is basically you get 5000 starting chips and 3 tickets worth 5k each which you can exchange anytime up untill or at level four which is 2 hours
its just a way of keeping the fish happy at the casino

update:

Didnt cash last night , busto AK

flop A72

he had pocket 77's ;(

Tiredness and playing poker rant

Being tired while playing poker is one of the biggest mistakes you can make sometimes
i dont know how it affects other people but when im tired and i cant even play a 6 max turbo sng properly.
Its even harder when i have just started playing in an mtt and i really wish i could turn back the clock and unreg.
ok my post is negative but i have to say it because im really trying to improve my game lately by playing both online and live poker but the both dont mix well.
One 5am final table in a live casino tournament can mess up my whole week and its even worse when that late night finish was busting on the bubble .
but  will contunue playing live because i enjoy the social side of it .
Theres absolutely no value in live poker where i play because when you take out your travel and general expenses your winnings wont go far
say you bink once a week @ £700 .. how much is that in profit ? not exactly a living
and these are £30 buy-ins on average with about 60 entrants which takes 8 hours to complete !
i could play 4 x180 man turbos online in less than 3 hours online without leaving my bedroom
so why do i do it ?

oh fuck this blog post ...... i could only depress you more if i continue lol so i quit here

first hand tonight :)

Hard life playing poker

Its a hard life playing poker .. i recently started a challenge to make $500 from $20 and was doing ok but decided to move up from $2.25  6 max sng's to $5 and as you can see from the chart above i started hitting swings which are too high for a $80 bankroll so im back at $2.25 untill i build up more money.
After about 160 games i have made $1 profit :) which is telling me that i need to improve my game
Its also telling me that the days of depositing more money into my poker account every few days to continue playing are coming to an end.
I think as a poker player its always best to be honest with yourself and be realistic about how good or bad you are as a player.
Not many players like to admit that they are at fault for losses by blaming it on variance or bad beats or the poker software they are using.
I feel im learning a little bit more each day about poker and will get much better when it all comes together so im satisfied with my game .
My chart above is a very small sample and could easily be much higher or even lower but i suppose at some point the bad beats or wins level out so theres no point me saying it would be great if i didn't have so many badbeats.
Theres one area of my game which is nothing to do with the cards which has made a difference to the chart above and profits and thats mindset.
I would say that ive been positive the majority of the time but theres been quite a few sessions where ive continued playing in a poor frame of mind or tilted and thats probably a key area that makes a difference to poker players long term profits.
I think to be a consistent long term player you need to realise that every time you play poker n a negative frame of mind you take away your profits as a player.
Looking back & chart above  i had no control over downswings , variance , bad beats etc and the majority of decisions i made were based on what i have learned so far regardless if they were good or bad decisions
What im trying to say really without making excuses is that if over the 160 games if managed to stay more focused and in a good frame of mind the chart above would tell a different story .
Theres been a few times i played whilst drinking alcohol and recently i have played online after a late night playing live casino competitions
ie last night i bubbled in 7th place at 3am and got to sleep at about 4am but still i have played several games today and probably play about ten sng's tonight.
Today im both tilted and tired after last night but i will continue playing as part of my learning includes seeing as many hands as possible and theres a few things i want to try out.

update later if i play.

btw i have earned $1 and paid $26 rake to Fulltilt.

That pretty much sums up the business lol

Live Poker Blitz

Last night i played a live competition at my local casino in Birmingham .. everything was going well and i was chipping up untill a lady was moved to my table
She was seated to my right and had a huge rack of chips from blitzing her previous table .
I remember thinking if Mike Caro's book is correct where he says money flows clockwise around poker tables then hopefully i should be getting a chunk of her chips.
it was so funny she was about 30+ stone , looked like she had been released from a mental home and stunk of BO ......... She was friendly and polite though
She started destroying our table knocking out half decent players by getting lucky ........ finally i got a hand i could play against her expecting to chip up but it wasn't to be lol
I had J9 in the Big and it folded around to her in the sb she limps and flop comes K J 9 with me hitting two I bet and she called so i had her on a pair of kings and decided to get it all-in on turn and she showed K4 and hit another king on the river.
There was about 20 players remaining and i really hope she destroyed the lot of them lolzzzzzz

Today im back on Fulltilt playing $5 6max sngs ... i seem to be on going on a break even stretch but thats ok as long as im not losing its all good practice.

Update

and tonight played live again , reached final table and bubbled  in 6th
I played a solid game TAG style but didn't have a big stack and wasn't getting the cards or great spots to play and eventually it went down to shit or busto losing all in pre with KJs vs 77

Monday Sng's - Fulltilt

Im back on Fultilt today to play a few 6max sng's which are part of my $20 to $500 challenge.
So far ive  played about 90 games and on $50 including a couple of small bonus's -  im satisfied because its heading in the right  direction.
For me its most important to be a winning player and keep improving so any profit no matter how long it takes is all good.
Im finding it hard to motivate myself to play long sessions and more tables which i should do really but im also doing other stuff like watching training videos on pokerstars school website.
I usually play 3 or 4 tables and could manage 6 & thats my limit with short handed turbo's
Im not sure how players online can cope with 15+ tables ?? must be autopilot.

Heres how my my sharkcope graph is looking tonight:

btw i found a good way to deal with tilt by playing Black ops 2 on the xbox !

Update ..............

This morning i deposited another $40 into my account to $84 and i have decided to play 16 buyins @ $5 turbo 6 max.
Im going to play  3 tables at a time untill completed  and update results here ........

1      4th                                            busto AQ to A6
2      4th                                            played poor
3      2nd             $9.70
4      3rd                                            Shoved ATs  and got called/beat by T8s  .. unreal call  ?
5      2nd             $9.70
6      1st              $18
7      1st              $18
8      4th                                            Pocket JJ VS QQ Busto
9      4th
10    4th
11    2nd            $9.70
12    1st             $18
13    5th                                            AK to QJ preflop all in
14    3rd                                           AK to pocket 77
15    3rd
16    3rd

Total buy-in amount $ 80

Total Cashed           $ 83

Final thoughts ...  Few too many bad beats but im happy to have made a small profit and gained experience at $5 which imo is the same skill level as $2.25.

graph

I may run this again later today and update here.. i am concerned about hitting a downswing and busting this little $88 bankroll because i really want to keep the sharkscope line going upwards long enough to show some consistency winning at low limits and then move up hopefully.

pdate ... ok here i go again this time im going  to play 17 x $5 6max turbo's and update results below.

1        3rd
2        2nd     $9.70
3        2nd     $9.70
4        2nd     $9.70       Cant win an all in ;(
5        6th                       shoved AK vs pocket KK's
6        4th
7        5th                      pocket J's all in lost to A8
8        4th
9         3rd
10       2nd      $9.70
11      1st         $18
12      3rd
13      4th
14      2nd      $9.70
15      1st       $18
16      3rd
17      2nd      $9.70   bad luck HU

I was going to quit playing these $5 sng's after game 11 as the swings are so high for my roll but i decided to continue and complete it today and heres the final results
I  have also played  a couple of other games and a micro mtt without any luck

Total Buy-in cost   $85

Total cashed         $94

Results chart:

Final thoughts :

After running this twice playing 33 games @ $5 i think i could grind this level and make a profit which should increase as i fine tune my 6max game

I know i can improve by losing some bad habits like limping and flat calling  to see cheap flops
i also need to sort out my bet sizing when i hot the flop , i tend to pot bet whenever i believe i have the best hand so maybe i should put more thought into that.

Sunday Mtt's

Having a break from my $20 to $500 challenge today .. played crap yesterday about break even

Today im back on Pokerstars hoping to play some mtt's ... i havn't got a bankroll for the majors so going to play some sats to see if i can get into them on the cheap starting with the Sunday Million
Im now playing a $8.80 6max turbo shootout which pays one entry and 5 cash prizes.
Im going to play the Sunday Storm and may buy shares in other online players in the marketplace at 2+2.

Had a bad beat in the $8.80 SM sat and next hand i decided to blast all in with AK running into KK and busting out as probably deserved lol

Im going to grind the $3.75 sunday storm sats for a bit to hopefully get entry some extra tournament $'s

to be continued .......

Ok i played 5 x $3.75 sats ( 6max hyper - pays 2- Sunday Storm ) and won 3 entries worth $11 each so i will play the Storm later and continue playing sats to get a cheaper mtt schedule sorted for the day.

played x3 $3.75 sats to 6k gtd and won two entries worth $11 each

LOL Donkaments $1.65 rebuy sat to Sunday Million AQ : http://www.boomplayer.com/en/poker-hands/Boom/2213966_6C44D5AAF9

Busto :)  shove steal attempt got an unwanted call

............

Tournaments registered in today

Sunday Storm   - $11 buy-in
6k Gtd              - $11 Buy in (unregistered)

Back again :) .......... I played a few sats today and made a nice profit in tournament dollars
i didn't buy shares today so hopefully bink myself.
Im playing the sunday storm now and may register into a few more mtt's but not going take it too seriously  as ive decided to have a few glasses of red wine tonight :)

2nd hand played in the storm won a nice little 1100 pot :)

Dont you just fucking love poker !!! i dont care if its peanuts ... its great while winning!

Update ....

Didnt cash in the Sunday Storm which was the only mtt i played today because decided to get drunk instead
but today i made a profit from playing 6 max sats and i might grind them more to build a bankroll because they are so easy.
i think its because on the weekend theres a lot of players with no 6max hyper experience playing these sats just to get into tournaments .
